I also have this tattoo listed in 'Tribal/Celtic'. This is my newest tattoo. 100% custom done by the artist. I wanted to pull in elements that mean something to me.

The ancient Celts viewed the dolphin as a symbol of both prosperity and guidance. The overall image of the dolphin is of dignity, playfulness, freedom, grace, strength, and joy.

The butterflies are for each of my children and step-children.

The celtic triquetra stands for the trinity of soul: Physical, mental, and spiritual.
