Though it is a tribute to Escher's work, I also decided on this picture because I wanted a koi tattoo and I own the album "In a wild sanctuary" by Beaver and Krause, which uses this drawing as a cover.

If you know the original picture you'll notice several differences: for example, my arm was too small to accommodate three trees so we made only one, and the fish is vertical instead of being horizontal.

The work took two sessions and something like 8 hours in total.
