White Crane for my karate style. Two samurai swords and the elements for Miyamoto Musashi and the Book of 5 rings. The 4 small kanji "Earth, Water, Fire and Wind" for chapters in Musashi's book. I left out the Kanji for "Nothing" the fifth chapter, because I am going to replace with kanji for "Faith". The big Kanji is my middle name "Masaru" which can also be pronounced Katsu and means victory. The Sakura flowers remind me of Toyama no Kinsan a samurai show my grandfather and I watched together.

No tramp stamp here...and there will never be tribal or nautical stars on me! I never thought I would do a butterfly but I think it's going in "Spring". Thanks for your input on the angel background...it'll be subtle maybe w/small planets and more stars.

Thanks for your comment on my angel :) I love her! I'm thinking of going all the way around on both arms...not lower but fill both in. I'm thinking of a celestial compass and a space background for the angel...what do you think?

Thanks for your comment on my phoenix...I did extend the black a little, but you're right...I was going for a softer look. I love this one of yours...can't wait to see the finished product!

Flowers and fire will be colored in. Rocks and Wind bars will be black / grey. Debating on the water being black / grey like most traditional Japanese tattoos, but am considering color... any thoughts?
