i got this tattoo to celebrate being a type 1 diabetic for 15 years. the original design was just black but the tattoo artist thought a drop shadow would look good with it so i chose red to symbolize the blood portion of being a diabetic. the tattoo itself means "sacrifice to cure illness" and although it is my first one, i will never regret this tattoo and it has a very significant meaning to me.
