My 2nd tattoo. Started with just the butterflies and grew from there. Designed by my wife and I.

The character spirit/soul grows into a cherry tree. The cherry blossoms fall to the ground, symbolizing how fragile life and the human soul both are. Butterflies and moths are considered in the Asian culture to be carriers of the soul. The tiny koi in the river is reflected in the full back piece I am working on.
Although life is short, it is a sweet and beautiful thing, much like the cherry blossom.
