My best friend and I got matching tattoos, and had them placed in the same spot on our inside ankle (no flash). We chose the butterfly because it represents renewal. She has survived both cervical and ovarian cancer. Right after getting this tattoo, my sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer, so I went back in to have the teal color added to the wings (teal is the ribbon color for both cervical and ovarian cancer awareness). I also had the body of the butterfly changed slighty.
