This is the caduceus design I put on my back just before entering medical school. I replaced the traditional ball on the top of the staff with a torch to represent the knowledge I am pursuing. The phrase "Primum Non Nocere" is Latin for "First do no harm", the first phrase in the Hippocratic Oath. The Roman numerals at the bottom signify my year of graduation, and the attainment of my MD (2013). This was my first tattoo, done by Greg Ash (Artistic Tattooing, Providence, RI).
