I have always loved owls so I decided why not get one tattooed? Originally it was just the owl on it's own but I added the branch which makes it more feminine. I think i want to get some shading somewhere inside the owl but i'm a bit uncertain about it?

The branch was a good idea. I think down the line you should definitely put some color in him/her. I've seen some owls with color (like blue and purple) and it looks amazing, it really makes the owl pop out more.
