This is a Zia with a wave within. the Zia is an indigenous symbol for the sun, and has four rays on each side representing their sacred number; Four seasons, four compass directions, four seasons of life etc.. the sun being sacred as well a symbol of life. I got this tattoo as a symbol of my leaving my country to explore the world, get back to my roots, and begin my adult life. The wave being a symbol of the oceans i crossed as well as my love for the sea, waves, surfing etc. I got it done in Santiago,Chile
