| No, you know what she *meant* it to say because you recognize those two characters. But in Chinese and Japanese this is not a meaningful word, just like "mutual hand" looks meaningless and stupid in English but means "each other" in Japanese. Get it? |

| Bob, In chinese writing two-syllable words are often shortened to one, which still carries the same meaning. I know exactly what her tattoo says, why does it matter if it's written using formal grammar or not... douche. I think it looks nice. |

| I wouldn't worry about BOB, he has comments on many of the asian character tattoos, but has no tats posted himself. Just another person trying to act like he is superior. Too scared to post a pic, but has no problem beating down others. |

| The two characters are "woman" and "power," but they are just two separate words. Imagine if you had chosen the words "bowl" and "curtain": even if you put them together you wouldn't get anything meaningful. |

| I did actually do research into this before tatooing it on my body, and everything i could find had the same meaning so obviously all my sources were wrong. Not to worry the meaning is still the same for me and thats all that matters |

| Eg: the Japanese word for "freedom" is written with two characters. Imagine a Japanese speaker thinking--cool, I'll just translate this into English words for my tattoo: "oneself" and "a reason." What you have looks ridiculous to anyone who can read kanji |

| It really bugs me when people treat Chinese characters as pretty symbols that can be used however they want. They are a system of writing that millions of people can read, and there are rules for using them. |

| Uh, no. In Japanese you would need at least two more characters to write "girl power." Even to write "woman power" would need one more character. You can't just mix and match Chinese characters any way you want. This means nothing at all. |
