... on its own in Chinese it doesn't mean anything, though the sound is 'Yun'. With another character it means 'kidney bean'. And the character's slightly malformed.
Don't get me wrong, on the whole I like it, good colours and well placed. |

I like the flowers! But I have to say, I've just looked this up in my Chinese dictionary (I know it's Japanese, but they got their characters from the Chinese, and if a billion+ people can understand it then they'll be Chinese!) and... |

I LOVE THE FLOWERS THEY'RE VERY PRETTY!!!! AND I BELIEVE A TATTOO MEANS WHAT YOU WANT IT TO MEAN YOU KNOW, PLUS PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS GOING TO ASK YOU HEY WHAT DOES THAT MEAn? AND YOU CAN TELL EM WHAT U WANT! |

Anyone who can read it (literally billions of people) isn't going to ask her what it means. If you get the word "craft" tattooed on you, no one who can read English is going to think it's really supposed to mean "talented artist." Same with kanji. |

WELL I respected the symbol enough to get it on my body to symbolize what i thought it meant. I love the tat. END OF STORY....and i do want people to post comments, people who actually have ink and understand what it is to get one. |

That would be the only thing that mattered if the tattoo wasn't in a language that billions of people can read. This particular tattoo isn't all that bad, as kanji tattoos go, but people need to respect the fact that they're not meaningless symbols. |

The only thing that matters is that YOU like your tat. Who cares what everybody else thinks. I think it looks fine. Bob likes to bust my balls on several that I have done. Feel free to check them out and let me know what you think. |

Oh, and you can go here

to see what the character should actually look like and for confirmation of its meanings. |

If you don't want people to comment on your tattoos then don't post them on Rate My Ink. Simple as that. |

It looks like it's been crushed from above like an empty beer can.
Oh, and regarding the morons who said this was "gay," the irony is that the most common reading of this character is "gei" (sounds like "gay"). |

Sorry to break it to you, but this character does NOT mean "talented artist." The phrase "talented artist" would require at least four characters, but none of them would be this one, which simply means "art" or "craft." It's badly written, too. |

People who refer to things as "gay" should crawl in a hole and die. I'm sorry.
I love the tattoo. |
