So many years ago, I saw the movie Pi. I was in a state of heightened/enhanced awareness, and the whole spiral thing really stuck with me. I decided I wanted a nautilus on my back. Big. A friend had been doing ink for several years and took a good run at it in just black from a photograph. I had that for about 4 years until I took it to Jason Longtin at Deluxe in Chicago. He re-outlined and re-shaded it, then added the color.
